ESG
ESG risks and opportunities are exponentially increasing as policy makers, regulators, investors and consumers position themselves in the transition to a low carbon and circular economy while taking the interests of multiple stakeholders into account.
Businesses, whether they are facing private investors, markets, consumers or their own supply chains, are considering how they mitigate and improve the social and environmental impacts of their operations, and formulating robust governance structures to manage these.
Our co-ordinated team of legal and non-legal specialists from across the firm places ESG considerations at the heart of what they do and are here to assist with the challenges and opportunities they present. We take a proactive and solutions focused approach to supporting our clients embedding ESG considerations.
We can give clients a consistent and high quality "one firm service" across jurisdictions, where specific local law advice is required in addition to our advice on UK and EU requirements, we can select the best foreign law firm partner.
We understand navigating the suite of ever changing universe of ESG regulations is a significant challenge, for an up to date picture read about the latest developments or contact Lora Froud.
Our ESG practice is led by Rachel Richardson, our head of ESG, who has been acknowledged as a Green Ambassador in The Legal 500 Green Guide: United Kingdom 2025.
We recognise that ESG issues are just as relevant to our own business and operations as they are to our clients, and we understand that the decisions we make within our business can have an acute impact on our wider environment.
To ensure integration of each element of E, S and G into our operations we have established an ESG steering committee comprising partners, directors and managers from across the firm which has oversight and responsibility for ESG policy matters and strategy. This committee works with Rachel Richardson and our head of sustainability, Praveen Gopalan, who was recognised in The Legal 500 Green Guide: United Kingdom 2025.
