The BHS settlement and the pensions Green Paper
The Pensions Regulator has met its critics by securing a £363m settlement with Sir Philip Green.
Also, in response to recommendations from the Work & Pensions Committee prompted by the BHS case, the Department for Work & Pensions has issued a Green Paper seeking views on:
- a mandatory clearance regime;
- permitting benefit reductions; and
- expanding the Pensions Regulator’s powers to wind-up schemes.
