Macfarlanes strengthens corporate crime and investigations offering with senior hire

Macfarlanes is pleased to announce that Brian Spiro will join the firm as a senior advisor in our leading corporate crime and investigations team.

Brian has over 30 years of experience advising businesses and individuals on complex, high-profile domestic and international regulatory investigations and on prosecutions conducted by various authorities, such as the Serious Fraud Office, Financial Conduct Authority and HM Revenue and Customs.

Brian is recognised as a leading practitioner in his field and has acted on many of the most significant domestic financial crime cases. Brian’s international practice has involved matters across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

Brian joins from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he has been a partner since 2017. Prior to that, Brian was a partner at BCL Solicitors LLP (a firm specialising in criminal and regulatory work) for 16 years.
