Macfarlanes advises Silverfleet Capital on financing for acquisition of majority stake in Collectia

14 February 2020

Macfarlanes has advised European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital on the debt financing for its acquisition of Collectia.

Collectia is a fast-growing tech-enabled debt collection, debt purchase and credit management business headquartered in Denmark with operations in Sweden, Norway and Germany.  With its sophisticated proprietary technology platform, credit database and advanced data analytics capabilities, Collectia is a highly-differentiated business with significant potential to build market share in both existing and new markets. In recent years Collectia has diversified beyond its core debt collection business by increasing its exposure to debt purchasing and launching a credit control service for the Danish market, where it provides credit score information to its customers, as well as via several acquisitions expanding its presence across the Nordic region and Germany.

The debt financing package for the acquisition was provided by Alcentra and Sydbank.

The Macfarlanes team was led by finance partner Kirstie Hutchinson, with assistance from senior solicitor George Silber and solicitor Owen Giles.

Kirstie Hutchinson commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have been able to assist Silverfleet in implementing an innovative and bespoke financing package for their acquisition of Collectia, which will help drive the exciting growth strategies for the business over the coming years.”
