Macfarlanes has advised Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) on the fundraising of £260m for its new venture capital fund, SEP V.

SEP V will look to invest up to £20m in high growth technology and technology-enabled companies.  These companies will be mainly in the UK and Ireland, although investments in companies in other European countries will be considered.

SEP’s Managing Partner Calum Paterson said: “The new fund gives us a very strong platform to continue to invest in companies with world class potential and we thank all of our investors for their support.  The Macfarlanes team have been integral to the process and their advice and support throughout the fundraising was invaluable.”

The Macfarlanes team was led by head of investment management, Stephen Robinson, with investment management solicitor Harriet Hamilton.  Tax partner Mark Baldwin and tax solicitor Art Ward also advised on this matter.
