Dominic Sedghi Head of Knowledge
Dominic heads up the firm’s knowledge function and is responsible for managing the firm’s knowledge function and resources and co-ordinating different workstreams within the Firm to provide optimal solutions for clients and colleagues.
He is a technical expert, with a particular focus on Corporate and M&A work, providing internal counsel on technical issues, keeping clients and colleagues up-to-date with legal and regulatory developments, writing technical papers and news bulletins, and developing and managing legal training.
Dominic worked in two major City firms, first as a transactional lawyer and then as a knowledge lawyer, before joining Macfarlanes. His legal background is in general corporate matters, including private and public M&A, equity capital markets, corporate governance and reporting, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital, and group reorganisations. He also has particular experience in environmental, social and governance matters, document and transaction execution, and electronic signing.
Dominic is a sitting member of the Law Society’s Company Law Committee and regularly contributes to policy consultations and technical advice issued by the Society. He is also a member of the City of London Law Society’s Training Committee, the Networking for Know How knowledge lawyers’ group, and the From Counsel Practice Committee.
Dominic sits on the steering group of our DAWN staff network, a forum that focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of all of those at Macfarlanes and also offers support to staff who have direct experience of or support others with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions and other long and short term conditions.
