Jamie Macpherson Senior Counsel
Jamie has advised corporates and funds, borrowers and lenders, in connection with a wide range of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project, real estate and other specialist and structured financings, general banking and the trading of commodities and other derivatives.
He is a technical expert, providing counsel on complex transactions and advising clients across the firm’s finance practice on legal and market developments, including in relation to Brexit, Covid-19 disruption, the transition from LIBOR and sustainable finance.
Jamie’s interest in technology, particularly artificial intelligence, spans the legal implications of its deployment in financial markets and its application to legal practice. He has co-developed tools to:
- distil and provide access to current market terms to enable more targeted analysis by those negotiating financing transactions (which was recognised with a Legal Week Innovation Award and Highly Commended by the FT Innovative Lawyers Report); and
- assess and address the impact of LIBOR transition on a business-wide basis (which was recognised with a Legal Week Innovation Award).
