Alex acts on a broad range of complex domestic and international disputes, with a specialisation in competition matters.
Alex acts on a range of contentious matters, and has advised on High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court trials, Competition Appeal Tribunal claims, arbitrations, mediations and international litigation.
Alex has a particular focus on contentious competition and antitrust matters, alongside a general commercial practice. Alex has acted on a number of significant class action claims within the UK’s collective proceedings regime. Alex’s practice is cross-border and often involves working with leading independent firms around the world to provide global strategic advice.
Having been seconded to a leading New York law firm, Alex has particular familiarity with US litigation and enforcement matters.
Alex speaks regularly at industry conferences, and contributes to and has co-authored papers published in a number of leading academic journals including the Journal of Corporation Law and the Journal of International Business & Law.
Alex has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oxford and a Post-Graduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College, London.

- Advising a major sports tournament in relation to its defence of claims for breach of competition law.
- Advising a global pharmaceuticals company in its defence of competition damages claims in the High Court and Competition Appeal Tribunal.
- Advising an investment manager in a complex shareholder dispute including alleged fraud and conspiracy claims.
- Advising a leading global producer of bearings products in its defence of various competition damages claims in the Competition Appeal Tribunal and High Court.
- Advising the joint liquidators of a medical diagnostics company in relation to claims for fraud and dishonest assistance against the company's former director and his advisers.
- Advising a global software company seeking to enforce a portion of a substantial US judgment in a long-running transatlantic dispute which includes judgments given by the English Court of Appeal, European Court of Justice and US Court of Appeals.
