Anne-Marie Ellis Senior counsel

Anne-Marie has a wide-ranging practice covering residential and commercial property, with a particular focus on the acquisition and disposal of high value residential properties and development land for both domestic and international clients.

Anne-Marie has been in practice for over 20 years and has built up an extensive client base and network of contacts, both in the UK and abroad.   She has been involved in transactions across a broad spectrum of property types, from dilapidated building projects to luxury new homes, country estates and mixed use premises.

Much of her work involves heritage properties and new-build trophy assets: she engages closely with colleagues and professional contacts in the tax, construction and planning spheres to provide comprehensive due diligence advice on what are usually complex transactions, undertaken within short timeframes.  She engages closely with the key buying and selling agents, very often on off-market deals where discretion, diplomacy, pragmatism and speed are key to a successful outcome.

She undertakes residential finance transactions, acting as panel solicitor for a number of private banks on secured lending matters and representing borrowers seeking finance to purchase residential properties.  Given the nature of the clients and properties, such financing arrangements are usually complicated and time-sensitive.

Anne-Marie also acts for landlords and tenants on leasehold enfranchisement claims and under the first rights of refusal legislation.
