Alex is head of the firm’s private equity practice and specialises in advising private equity clients on buyouts, management incentivisation and sales processes. He also has extensive experience of advising on asset manager M&A, private company M&A and general advisory matters.

Alex has sector expertise in several areas, including in particular the technology sector and co-heads the firm’s cross-departmental technology practice group, advising companies, founders and investors.

Advising Exponent Private Equity on the acquisition of KPMG’s pensions advisory practice, Big Bus Tours (the UK-based global sightseeing bus tour operator), The Leisure Pass Group (an online retailer of composite tourist attraction passes), and Bullit Mobile (a rugged mobile phone producer) and on the sale of Gorkana Group (the leading UK media intelligence business).

Advising specialist healthcare private equity investor GHO Capital on a number of matters, including the acquisition of Sterling Pharmaceuticals, the acquisition and sale of Quotient Clinical and the acquisition of ADC Biotechnology Limited.

Improbable

Advising Improbable Worlds on its $100m equity investment by NetEase to expand into the Chinese market. Achieved through a share issue and the purchase of some shares from early investors and founders.

Silverfleet Capital

Advising Silverfleet Capital on its leveraged buyout of Sigma Components, an aerospace manufacturing business, from AIM listed Avingtrans plc.

Hayfin Capital

Advising multi-strategy alternative asset manager Hayfin Capital on the purchase of a majority shareholding in the firm by British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, one of Canada’s largest institutional investors within capital markets.

Advising Checkout.com on its $230m Series A fundraising, Europe’s largest ever fintech Series A round and the third largest fintech Series A globally, which was co-led by Insight Partners and DST Global.

Advising Hayfin on the acquisition of the Transocean Norge oil rig in a joint venture with Transocean.

Advising the sellers on the sale of ACPI (wealth manager) to UBP (a Swiss bank).
